The Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker (GDCh, German Chemical Society) has approximately 30,000 members and is one of the largest chemical scientific societies worldwide. It promotes scientific research and teaching as well as the exchange and dissemination of new scientific knowledge.  The German Chemical Society supports the creation of networks, the trans-disciplinary and international collaboration and continuous education and training in schools, universities and professional environment. It has 27 divisions and 60 local sections.  The German Chemical Society is the publisher of numerous scientific journals – partly in association with Chemistry Europe – and the owner of Angewandte Chemie.
