The “A.V. Rama Rao Award” has been established by the Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) and funded by the A.V. Rama Rao Research Foundation in honor of Dr. A.V. Rama Rao, Former Director, Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT) and the Founder of the Avra Group.

The award is given globally to an organic chemist who has made an original contribution and created a signature in the areas of organic/bioorganic chemistry.

The nominee should be below 45 years of age on 31st December in the year of nomination.  The award carries a prize of US$ 10,000, a Medal, and a Citation.  This will be given to the winner during the CRSI symposium, where the recipient will be invited to give a lecture physically.  It is also expected that the recipient will become a member of CRSI and also give a talk at NCL Pune and IICT Hyderabad. The domestic travel/logistics will be coordinated by the AVRA foundation.

The call for the nomination goes out sometime on 1st February every year. The last date of receiving nominations is 31st March of the same year. Any distinguished person, who is familiar with the work of the nominee, can make the online nomination.
